Stephan Leblanc was on the Panther City Lacrosse Club roster for all of a few short hours before the expansion team traded the veteran forward to the Georgia Swarm on Monday evening.

Although the trade was still pending league approval when Georgia shared the move on social media, the deal would see the Swarm send a second-round selection in the 2022 NLL Draft for Leblanc’s services this season.

The Swarm, who slid into a post-season position after a huge victory over the Halifax Thunderbirds this past weekend, would face the first-place Buffalo Bandits is the playoffs started today.

An NLL Cup winner with the Toronto Rock, Leblanc has played in 20 post-season games over his accomplished career. A former first-round pick, Leblanc was also named the NLL’s Rookie of the Year 2010.

Earlier today, the Thunderbirds sent Leblanc and their second-round selection in the 2024 NLL Draft to Panther City for forward Dawson Theede.

The NLL’s 2022 trade deadline is this Tuesday at 12pm ET.

Update (March 15, 2022, 10am ET): The Swarm confirmed last night’s trade, Head Coach Ed Comeau stating, “Steph Leblanc has been an excellent player in this league for many years. We are thrilled to have him join the Swarm and bring his experience and ability to the team.” See their official announcement.
