Issue 1:

Homage

The Lax Mag is back. Well, sort of.

The Lax Mag is the melding of old & new, past & present, 17 years ago to today.

Back in 2004, LAXMAG was a website, later turned print publication, I ran with Shaydon Santos, who is now building box lacrosse in the US through USBOXLA, and my brother Peter Tutka, a cop in Toronto today.

We published three issues that hit newsstands across the country and shipped worldwide. Photos of players we shot for our pages (Colin Doyle, Brodie Merrill, Dan Dawson, Paul Dawson, Shawn Evans, Ryan Benesch, and so many others) are often still shared on social media and remembered by many fondly.

The Lax Mag pays homage to that past, but with a more modern take & treatment.

TLM is a monthly digital magazine and daily news source covering the National Lacrosse League and box lacrosse everywhere. The site was designed by Colleen Grimes (creative) and managed by myself (content) with the hope of achieving the same thing Shaydon, my brother, and I attempted to do nearly two decades ago: provide the sport and its players with the pro-level coverage they most definitely deserve.

Our first issue includes many of the players that appeared in the original pages of LAXMAG, but are still very much relevant so many years later.
