The Las Vegas Desert Dogs have added 15 new faces to the first-year franchise after today’s expansion draft that saw Albany FireWolves defenseman Jackson Nishimura taken with the first pick.

A series of draft picks were also dealt on the day, including this year’s first overall NLL Entry Draft selection, Vegas trading #1 to the Rochester Knighthawks in a sizeable swap that saw early expansion picks Riley Hutchcraft and Connor Fields flipped.

I’ve been waiting for this day since I came aboard and could not be more excited to welcome our inaugural class to Las Vegas and the Desert Dogs family,” said team Head Coach & GM Shawn Williams.
